Buying or selling a home is a big decision that takes a lot of time, effort, care and attention to detail. You need an experienced professional to guide you through the process from start to finish. When it comes to real estate, one of the largest investments you will make, you want to be comfortable with the level of expertise and valuable input I, as your agent, can offer.

I was originally licensed in 1987 as a professional realtor and I take that very seriously. I strive to provide the best and most accurate information to people who do business with me. My focus is to get the information you need and want quickly so we can get on with business and not waste time worrying and wondering about those unanswered questions.

I have served on the Business Practice and Education Committees of the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board, our professional association, at different times in the past because I believe it is a very important component of our profession. You should feel comfort in knowing when you deal with a Realtor, you are dealing with a person of high ethical standards and can rely on that throughout our ongoing relationship.

Early in my career, in 1993 to be exact, I completed the Urban Land Economics course offered by the University of British Columbia. It was a grueling four years of correspondence study while working, but I am glad to have taken it. I continue over the years to take courses offered by the industry to stay current. Some of those courses include ongoing legal update, disclosure, strata law, risk management, negotiating and presenting offers and more. I have also just recently completed the Seniors Real Estate Specialist program, offered by the Real Estate Institute of Canada to better understand and serve the needs of seniors.

In past years I worked for a property management company so I have a pretty good understanding of rentals (investments), the rules and what to watch for. The government does, however, make changes to the Residential Tenancy Act so I continue to keep  abreast of those changes to be better informed and to better inform those clients I work with. In addition, I have taken journalism and marketing courses and worked in both of those fields.

I am confident I have gained excellent personal and communication skills as a result of my varied past and extensive experience working with all types of buyers and sellers in the real estate arena over the years.

On a personal note, I am happily married to Dennis and we have a son, daughter in law and 2 grandchildren.

I enjoy a variety of activities as well as picking up the golf clubs again a few years ago after a long hiatus. Other interests include movies, theatre, walking, aerobics, health and fitness, reading, gardening, travelling and exploring new places, music and talking to new people about the Comox Valley and Vancouver Island. I have skied, played many different sports, owned dogs, cats and horses, worked on farms and race tracks and had a great deal of experience with amateur and professional dressage, show and cross country horse events.
